Equality and Diversity
We incorporate equality and diversity into all aspects of our work, and consider all aspects of diversity, including race, gender, sexual orientation and age.
Examples of specific ways we can work with your organisation to improve equality and diversity practice include:
- Conducting an equality impact assessment
- Reviewing your organisation's current policies and practice
- Providing tailored training and development for staff at different levels including strategic leaders, managers and front-line staff
- Developing single equality schemes, or race, disability or gender equality schemes
We have particular expertise in reviewing and developing language support services.
Give me an example!
- Turning Point: We undertook an extensive project to explore the business and legislative environment and Turning Point's current performance in terms of equality and diversity. Through this work we developed an organisational development plan to support improved equality and diversity practice.
- Disability Rights Commission: One of our consultants led a national project on behalf of the Disability Rights Commission to support local authorities to develop Disability Equality Schemes in response to disability legislation.
- Voluntary Action Camden: We ran mental health training for community workers working with people from black and minority ethnic groups, to help them identify early signs of mental health problems, barriers that people from different groups experience in accessing services, and how support can be tailored to be more culturally sensitive.
- NHS in Camden & Islington: We led work across two PCTs and the Mental Health & Social Care Trust to respond to the Disability Discrimination Act, including developing policies, and providing staff training and development.
- NHS Leadership Centre: We have worked on the NHS Leadership Centre's Breaking Through programme for black and minority ethnic managers, running development centres and providing one-to-one coaching.
